The free Chapter 0 demo is out now ahead of Steam Next Fest; the comedy-mystery launches November 22 on Steam for PC and macOS.
KYOTO, JAPAN, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Lobstudio Inc. today revealed a new English-language trailer for Zombie Police: Midsummer Unhappy New Year, the comedy-mystery adventure featuring an eccentric zombie detective. A free Chapter 0 demo is available on Steam starting today, ahead of the game’s appearance at Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26, 2026.
As previously announced, the game launches on November 22, 2026 for PC and macOS via Steam at US$10.99, with a Nintendo Switch version planned for a later date.
The new trailer shows off the game’s colorful characters, dark mysteries and slapstick comedy.
Zombie detective Akemi Kabane, an undead investigator, teams up with her brave and stoic partner Yasu Tamura to uncover the mystery of a village locked in a nonstop midsummer cycle and a tragic incident involving a popular VTuber.
Using Akemi’s Zombie Dive ability, players discover hidden secrets within suspicious individuals and everyday objects, then combine new clues and revelations to piece together the truth behind the village’s mystery.
The Chapter 0 demo offers roughly 10 to 20 minutes of gameplay, and Lobstudio welcomes streamers and content creators to play and share it.
Midsummer Unhappy New Year is the latest entry in the Zombie Police series, following Zombie Police: Christmas Dancing with Police Zombies.
“The new Zombie Police game is set in Sanjusanda City, a fictional town inspired by Sanda in Hyogo Prefecture, my beloved hometown,” said Tsuyoshi Manabe, CEO of Lobstudio Inc. “Our zombie detective takes on a curse rooted in the dark traditions of an isolated Japanese village. I hope players enjoy this one-of-a-kind comedy-mystery, where love for my hometown meets zombie detective comedy.”
